Tools
like Voice Thread or Voki are excellent resources for students to practice
their listening skills. You can also leave instructions about homework,
projects or in-class assignments for students using these tools.
Avatars
in Voki offer a good chance to practice topics like past tenses or reported
speech. Students can also practice re-telling stories or phrases. Avatars are
very popular nowadays. People make an avatar for their Wiis or on-line games,
so I think everybody will really enjoy creating their own here as well. The
only bad thing is that as it happens with most tools, you need to pay to have
access to extra features.
At
the beginning it was hard for me to use voice thread due to a problem with my
computer’s firewalls. My brother helped me out and then I was able to use it. I
found it to be really nice, actually. You can upload any image and then add
your own voice or even an audio of your taste. This feature can add a lot of
creativity for both teachers and students’ work!
You
can use these tools with any age and for any topic and adapt its presentation
according to your teaching objectives.
These
are the audios I created…
